Summer STEM Programs

VCS is proud to offer our seventh year of Title 1 Summer STEM programs. Open to all students currently enrolled at Campbell Middle, DeLand Middle, Deltona Middle, Galaxy Middle, Heritage Middle, Hinson Middle, Silver Sands Middle, and Southwestern Middle, participants explore the immersive world of game coding & design, explore robotics engineering, as well as a variety of other hands-on electronics and engineering projects. 

  • Summer STEM Programs take place at:
    • DeLand High School
    • Deltona High School
    • Mainland High School
    • Pine Ridge High School
    • T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School
  • Transportation to the Summer STEM Program is provide FREE OF CHARGE.
  • Breakfast and lunch are provided for the participants FREE OF CHARGE.

Edith I. Starke Elementary STEM + Arts Magnet Program Information Session

Volusia County Schools (VCS) is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever elementary magnet program at Edith I. Starke Elementary School in DeLand next year. The innovative program, focusing on STEM + Arts, will open in the 2025–2026 school year for students in grades K-2. 

To introduce the community to the new program, VCS and Starke Elementary invite families and community members to attend a Community and Prospective Parent Information Night on Monday, May 21, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Starke Elementary, located at 730 S Parsons Ave, DeLand, FL 32720. This event will feature VCS’s STEM Bus for students to get a preview of hands-on STEM learning.

2024 -2025 ESE Parent Survey Now Open

The annual FDOE survey is open to all parents of children with an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) receiving ESE services from preschool through grade 12. (It is not intended for parents of students receiving only gifted services through an Educational Plan.) Students with disabilities aged 18 or older may complete this survey.
