Graduation
To graduate from a Volusia County high school, students must earn a minimum of 24 credits. Some high schools offer specialized programs that may require specific courses beyond the 24 credit minimum. Interested parties should review the individual requirements of the school their child will attend.
In addition to course work, students must also meet the following three criteria to earn a regular high school diploma:
- achieve a minimum score on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
- maintain an unweighted cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for courses required for graduation; and
- meet attendance requirements as prescribed by school board policy.
