DELAND–School Way Café, a department of Volusia County Schools, will provide meals to children 18 years old or younger during the summer at no charge through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

To cover the gap between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer programs, select school sites will offer breakfast and lunch Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, July 28.

Students attending VCS Summer Programs in person will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge at the school they are attending. Children 18 years old or younger who are not on campus during the summer may also participate in the meal program.

For security and preparation purposes, parents or guardians of children not participating in a school program will need to place an order for meals 24 hours in advance by contacting the front office of the participating school site as registration is required. During the designated mealtime service, the registered families must check in at the office.

All sites will be closed June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

The following sites will serve meals Monday through Thursday. Children must eat their meals on site.

Programa de Servicio de Alimentos de Verano de las Escuelas del Condado de Volusia

DELAND–School Way Café, un departamento de las Escuelas del Condado de Volusia (Volusia County Schools), proporcionará comidas a niños de 18 años o menos durante el verano, sin costo alguno, a través del Programa de Servicio de Alimentos de Verano del USDA y del Departamento de Agricultura y Servicios al Consumidor de Florida.

Para cubrir el intervalo entre la finalización del año escolar regular y el inicio de los programas de verano, una selección de planteles escolares ofrecerá desayuno y almuerzo desde el lunes 8 de Junio hasta el martes 28 de Julio.

Los estudiantes que asistan en persona a los Programas de Verano de VCS recibirán desayuno y almuerzo sin costo en la escuela a la que asistan. Los niños de 18 años o menos que no se encuentren en el plantel escolar durante el verano también podrán participar en el programa de comidas.

Por motivos de seguridad y planificación, los padres o tutores de los niños que no participen en un programa escolar deberán solicitar las comidas con 24 horas de antelación, comunicándose con la oficina administrativa del plantel escolar participante, ya que es necesario registrarse. Durante el horario designado para el servicio de comidas, las familias registradas deberán presentarse en la oficina para registrar su asistencia.

Todos los planteles permanecerán cerrados el 19 de Junio, en conmemoración de Juneteenth, y el 4 de Julio, en conmemoración del Día de la Independencia.

Los siguientes planteles servirán comidas de lunes a jueves. Los niños deberán consumir sus comidas dentro de las instalaciones del plantel.
