Notice of Special School Board Meeting and Attorney-Client Session

DELAND — The School Board of Volusia County will hold a special meeting at 2:00 pm on December 9, 2025, in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at the District Administrative Complex, 200 North Clara Avenue, DeLand, Florida to discuss pending litigation. The board meeting is open to the public. In accordance with section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, the school board will conduct an attorney-client session immediately upon commencement of the board meeting with the Volusia County School Board members, Board Attorney Dr.Gilbert L. Evans, Superintendent Dr. Carmen Balgobin, Attorney Brandy Rood, and a certified court reporter. The estimated length of the attorney-client session shall be 1 hour. If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the school board with respect to any 
matter considered at this meeting, he/she will need to record the proceedings and, for such purpose, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
