Mr. Christopher Gibbs Recognized as an Epic Educator at the 2025 Model Schools Conference
Daytona Beach – Volusia County Schools is proud to announce that Christopher Gibbs has been selected as an Epic Educator at the 2025 Model Schools Conference taking place in Washington, D.C. June 22-25. Hosted by the Center for Model Schools, this premier event celebrates trailblazing educators who drive innovation, inspire change, and implement transformative practices that elevate student learning.
"I am truly honored to be recognized as an Epic Educator at MSC 2025," said Christopher Gibbs, 5th Grade Reading Teacher at Turie T. Small Elementary School. "Every student deserves a teacher who ignites their potential and empowers them to soar. It is my honor to be that teacher.”
As part of this recognition, Christopher Gibbs will present Purposeful Notetaking in the Elementary Reading Classroom, Gr. 3-5 at MSC 2025, engaging with over 5,000 educators to share how to implement a purposeful notetaking strategy, inspired by retro practices and aligned with spiraling reading standards, to enhance student engagement and comprehension that can be implemented in classrooms nationwide.
