Public Attendance at Volusia County School Board Meetings to Re-Start September 17, 2020
DELAND – Members of the public can attend Volusia County School Board meetings in person beginning with the Impasse Hearing at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 17. Attendance at all public meetings will be very limited due to social distancing requirements.
School Board meetings will continue to be aired online, as well, with the link available on the VCS website homepage, www.vcsedu.org, on the day and time of the meeting.
For those planning on attending the September 17 meeting in person, there will be a single-entry point with doors opening at 3:45 p.m. Temperature checks will be done at the entrance, and masks will be required. Seating will be spaced to allow for social distancing.
If the meeting chambers fill to capacity, a limited number of people will be permitted to listen to the meeting in the lobby overflow area. Social distancing and mask requirements will be in place in the overflow area.
At impasse hearings there is no public participation. Regular School Board meetings do have public participation in person. The next regular School Board meeting is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 22.
