PRHS Choral Students Produce Winter Concert Video

Choral students at Pine Ridge High School produced an amazing winter concert video using recording arts equipment funded by a FUTURES Mini Grant!

Director of Choral Activities David Peralta received the grant titled “Training Tomorrow's Sound Engineers: Expanding Vocal Arts to Recording Arts." The grant funded the materials necessary for semi-professional recording arts applications.

“Our goal was to maximize the potential of recording arts curriculum in the classroom/performance venue,” Peralta said.

To better serve in-person and virtual students, computer-based curriculum must be included in a way that supports independent musicianship and musical achievement, he said. Students would not typically have access to this type of equipment at home.

The first video produced is a concert featuring performances by Pine Ridge High students. Students assisted Peralta with recording the performances and editing the audio and video.

Bravo, Mr. Peralta and all the students! And thanks to the FUTURES Foundation for VCS for supporting this project.
