The Instructional Materials Department strives to provide students, schools and faculties of Volusia County Schools with the highest quality of instructional materials to meet its educational goals and support 21st Century teaching and learning. We follow all Florida State Guidelines and Procedures in choosing the best materials possible and it is our goal to affect student achievement in the highest way possible as well as Volusia County School Board Policy 321 for selection and review.

This department maintains instructional materials as well as follows the material adoption cycle through the Florida DOE and the timeline provided.

English Language Arts Adoption

This year the state of Florida’s Materials Adoption focuses on English Language Arts (ELA) for Kindergarten through Grade 12. We encourage all Volusia County stakeholders to look at and provide feedback for the potential materials. Materials have been sent to each school for faculty review through January 12th, 2021. For community members, below is a link to the online versions of the materials, along with the username and password you will need. The Volusia County Instructional Materials Department will also provide three opportunities for the community to peruse the print materials.
