What is the Hospital/Homebound Program?
Hospital/Homebound is a physician-referred program of participation for critically ill students who are unable to attend school in the traditional fashion.
The documented medical condition(s) must be acute or catastrophic in nature; a chronic illness; or a repeated intermittent illness due to a persisting medical condition.
Final determination for Hospital/Homebound eligibility is made by Volusia County Schools staff at a Individual Education Plan (IEP) eligibility staffing.
Please Note: Hospital/Homebound is not a program of choice for parents. It is only considered with a completed Physician's referral for services.
For additional information about Hospital/Homebound services, please review Eligibility Information and Referral Process.
Parents, your input is important to us! Please use the included Parent Input Form.pdf to share your feedback about the Hospital/Homebound instructor(s) to the administrator of the Hospital/Homebound Program. Any concerns, questions or positive feedback regarding your child's teachers will be reviewed by the administrative staff. For your convenience, you can email the completed form to cchandle@volusia.K12.fl.us or to Cassie Chandler, Hospital/Homebound at Atlantic High School.
