Health Academy

WELCOME TO DELTONA HIGH'S HEALTH ACADEMY

The Health Services Academy is a career-based program where students can explore careers in the field of health care. The academy is based on a strong partnership between Deltona High School and members of the local health care community. Courses offer students the chance to participate in an intensive medical preparation combined with their recommended academies. Students who apply and are accepted into the program will take part in a unique learning environment that helps to give them a clear career path and focus on post-secondary preparation.

The upper-level health science courses are tauht by a Licensed Medical Professional, and students have the opportuntiy to earn industry certifications, Bright Furtures Scholarships, and Gold Seal Scholarships. Students will interact with guest speakers who are professionals in the community, take part in job shadowing placements, participate in field study trips, engage in internships and Ride Along programs, and will join the International co-curricular student organization HOSA: Future Health Professionals.
