Hospital Homebound
What is the Hospital/Homebound Program?
Hospital/Homebound is a physician-referred program of participation for critically ill students who are unable to attend school in the traditional fashion. The documented medical condition(s) must be acute or catastrophic in nature; a chronic illness; or a repeated intermittent illness due to a persisting medical condition. Final determination for Hospital/Homebound eligibility is made by Volusia County Schools staff at a Individual Education Plan (IEP) eligibility staffing.
Please Note: Hospital/Homebound is not a program of choice for parents. It is only considered with a completed Physician's referral for services.
For additional information about Hospital/Homebound services, please review Eligibility Information and Referral Process.
