Library Media Services & Instructional Materials

In accordance with FL Statute 1006.40, Volusia County Schools provides students and teachers with instructional materials that align with the District Strategic Plan.

Volusia County Schools adheres to the Florida Department of Education Guidelines and Procedures and Volusia County School Board Policy 321 for the selection, review, and purchase of instructional materials.

Objections to The Adoption of Instructional Materials

PETITION TO CONTEST ADOPTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS Pursuant to Florida 1006.28, parents of public school students may petition to contest the adoption of instructional materials within 30 days of the announcement of the intent to adopt. Petitions will be heard at a Public Hearing within 30 days after the adoption waiting period has expired. Decisions of the School Board of Volusia County, Florida are final and no further protests will be heard.
