Donations for Homeless Education

The PETALS Program serves 2500-3000 students identified as homeless each year. The team works to eliminate barriers for students by creating stability in schools when they may not have it at home. Donations help identified students to receive school supplies, clothing, and participation in fun school activities such as prom and grad bash. It also allows families to receive a grocery gift card when they are lacking basic food items or a gas gift card to support students and families attending school events.

Step 2: Choose a School: V-District Community Shopping Cart-Student Services-9001C

Step 3: Click Go

Step 4:  Scroll down until you find PETALS Program Donations

Step 5: Click + Add to Cart

Step 6: On the top right of your screen add the amount and click Checkout and then follow instructions for purchaser info.

Item Donations

All donations for Homeless Education can be made to Volusia County School for Homeless Education and sent to:

DeLand Transportation, C/O Crystal Eubanks, Project Manager for Homeless Education, 1301 Shapiro Drive, Building #8, DeLand, Florida, 32724. Crystal Eubanks can be reached by phone at 386-734-7190 ext. 20856.

Items in high demand include:

  • Tops and bottoms for both boys and girls/teens of all sizes
  • Underwear for men, women, boys, and girls
  • Bras-variety of sizes
  • Shoes for boys, girls and toddlers
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Hair brushes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Laundry detergent (travel size)

Please keep in mind that due to limited staff and storage, we are unable to accept used items which require sorting, washing, need stain removal or torn.
