Volusia County Charter School Applications 

Eligibility to Apply

An application for a new charter school may be made by an individual, teachers, parents, group of individuals, a municipality or any legal entity organized under the laws of the State of Florida.

Application

The school board will receive and consider charter school applications received on or before August 1 of each calendar year for charter schools to be opened at the beginning of the school district’s next school year, or to be opened at a later time agreed upon by the applicant and the board.

Applications for charter schools shall be submitted on a standard application form developed and distributed by the Florida Department of Education. No application will be accepted until the application is complete and all appropriate signatures are obtained.
