Regulated Petroleum Storage Tanks
Regulated petroleum tanks include underground storage tanks that are greater than 110 gallons and aboveground storage tanks that are greater than 550 gallons. All new non-regulated tanks must be aboveground and placed on impervious surfaces with an air gap between the tank and the surface.
Volusia County Schools (VCS) Environmental Compliance Department is responsible for ensuring all storage tanks meet Florida Administrative Code 62-762. Some of the requirements include monthly inspections, US Monitoring Certification, registration placards, incident response, insurance coverage, testing, repairs, and document posting.
