Orange City Elementary undergoes a state-of-the-art remodel to its original campus, blending a modern classroom environment with its historic Spanish Mission architecture.

The new $39 million Starke Elementary School opens in DeLand, where school officials and the community cut the ribbon and toured the building.

Tomoka’s new school has 41 classrooms and has some nostalgic decor so that students can feel “at home.” The new school was built on top of the former, which was built in 1968.

Historic celebration at McInnis Elementary as they cut the ribbon for their Water Day Celebration! The transition to the DeLand public water system is a game-changer, ensuring smooth operations for years to come.

A consolidation of two schools – Ortona and Osceola Elementary – Beachside Elementary was completed in 2023. The new school includes three buildings, two playgrounds, a basketball court, bus loop and parent loop, and music, art and lab spaces.

After the demolition of the original property, Deltona Middle School received a brand-new school in 2022. This is the first 3-level middle school in Deltona, and it comes complete with multiple study areas for students, modern laboratories, a stylish media center, and more!

Chisolm Elementary’s renovations included modern features like collaborative spaces, flexible seating, ergonomic desks for students, dance and art studios, and much more!

George W. Marks Elementary received necessary upgrades in 2020. Their main building was outfitted with a new cafeteria, themed rooms that incorporated the history of the town, and an updated media center, among other things.

Pierson Elementary was renovated with the 21st century in mind. Though students received many new features like an updated media center, upgraded seating in classrooms, and new playgrounds, elements from the old elementary school were kept and incorporated.

The VCS STEM Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile learning lab set to revolutionize education by bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math right to the heart of our elementary schools.

The VCS STEM Solar Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile learning lab powered by the sun! Students explore everything from light spectrum, elector magnetism, plate tectonics, to robotics and 3d printing.
Security:

The CENTEGIX Safety Platform minimizes identification, notification, and response time in emergencies by leveraging dynamic digital mapping.

Volusia County Schools has upgraded the security system used to check in visitors and volunteers at schools and district offices, including the access control keypads at the Deland Administrative Complex. This upgrade is part of a broader effort to enhance security measures across the district.

Modern security cameras are used in every VCS facility to monitor and protect students and staff at all times. Cameras also feature AI that can detect threats before they happen.
