ITS Software & Systems Department

This department implements, manages, and supports all of the district's software and systems. They also coordinate district department accountability and state reporting data and events through the Data Management Calendar (DMC) committee which meets bi-weekly throughout the year. 

Software & Systems is comprised of three teams:

1. Systems Engineering Team:

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of software and hardware in collaboration with the ITS Field Services Department.
  • Builds, installs, manages, and maintains servers throughout the district as well as server backups and data restoration.
  • Manage both in-house and cloud-based systems and resources such as the district's Microsoft Office 365 accounts for both staff and students.
  • Work with other ITS departments to support systems that provide educators with effective teaching tools that foster a more engaging learning experience.
  • Supports communication systems for students, staff, parents, and the community.

2. Business Applications Team

  • Support ERP software used for administrative tasks like payroll, budgeting, human resources, and facilities management. 
  • Help streamline operations with technology to save time and resources for educators and administrators.
  • Develops custom in-house business applications when necessary. 
  • Integrates different systems to ensure seamless communication and reporting capability. 

3. Student Information Systems (SIS) Team

  • Support for registration, attendance recordkeeping, scheduling, grading, discipline, and special programs. Develops SIS software thru modifications, programming, and specialized workflows. 
  • Develops integrations with applications to export/import SIS data for systems such as assessments, single-sign-on applications, Gradebook, Student Transportation, and Direct Certification.
  • Maintains data warehouses to produce summaries and visualizations for data-driven decision making, analysis, and trend identification.
  • Extracts, validates, and reports all FLDOE required data for required state reporting surveys by coordinating with district leaders to validate information and ensure data is accurate and reliable.
  • Stays abreast of Federal and State statutory requirements and translates this to actionable processes and workflows.
