ITS Status Alerts

May 2 - There is still a major software bug affecting many Microsoft Windows-based computers in middle and high schools. The bug has been largely cleared from elementary schools and all staff computers. There will be some computers that were missed. If one of those is found, put in a ticket at the link below so a technician can circle back to get that one fixed.

ITS is active in middle and high schools fixing the problem, one computer at a time.

A centralized fix cannot be deployed since the devices would have to be online in the first place to receive it. There are two lines of erroneous code in the boot registry of some of our windows-based computers. It can only be fixed one computer at a time. Deleting files from the boot registry can ruin a computer so it is very important that this be done carefully.

This issue affects any internet connection, so going to another network like a home network will not fix it.

Apple MacBooks and iPads are not affected. Some Microsoft Windows-based machines were also not affected.

There are no other major outages at this time. All other systems are up. Minor outages are posted at https://volusia.incidentiq.com. To report a possible outage, call the ITS Help Desk at 386-734-7190 X 25000. National outages can be tracked at https://downdetector.com.
