ITS Infrastructure Department

The ITS Infrastructure Department provides the backbone of the entire district's technology. They are responsible providing the underlying infrastructure to ensure a smooth, secure, and reliable technological experience for students, teachers, and staff. 

1. Network Engineering Team: 

• Focus on the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the district's network.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, optimize network performance, and plan for future network upgrades including everything from the physical cabling that connects buildings to the wireless networks within each school, as well as the routers, switches, and firewalls that direct data traffic.
• Oversee the deployment and maintenance of all network devices used in the schools. This includes Wi-Fi access points, switches,  computers, tablets, and printers, as well as IoT devices such as thermostats, scanners, cameras, and others.

2. Cyber Security/Access Control Team: 

• Safeguards the district's computer systems and data from cyberattacks and unauthorized access.
• Implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
• Establish and manage user access controls to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information. 
• Work collaboratively with schools and departments to implement cyber security measures.
• Investigate cyber security incidents and mitigate threats such as phishing attacks.

In short, the ITS Infrastructure Department is the unsung hero of a large school district, working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the network technology running smoothly and securely, enabling a positive learning environment for everyone.
