Welcome! The Human Resources office of Recruitment & Retention would like to provide assistance in making your hiring process convenient. Below you will find some helpful information for new members of Team Volusia.

Email Accounts

If your position requires email access, this request must be made to the security contact at your school or work site. Completion of a User Agreement Form will be required.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps employees resolve personal and work problems through professional assistance. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. EAP is governed by HIPAA. Visit the Insurance & Employee Benefits EAP webpage to view some of the most common reasons to call the toll free number (1-800-272-7252).

ePortal

The Volusia County Schools ePortal (best viewed in IE) is an employee only portal which contains information particular to you and your position. Registration is required to access the ePortal. You will receive your unique PIN letter to register and create your personalized ePortal account at new hire orientation. Once your account is created, you will be able to explore information related to your insurance benefits, certifications & licenses, deals and discounts, and more. The tools provided in ePortal will be updated continuously, so be certain to login often.

Florida Retirement System

For specific questions regarding Retirement and DROP, you may contact the Florida Retirement System (FRS) at 888-738-2252 or visit the FRS website (link below) which contains up-to-date news and information. FRS employees can answer all of your personal questions as well as provide information on creditable years of service and eligibility with precise accuracy. You can also visit the MyFRS website to create a user ID and password for access to your personal retirement information.

Risk & Benefits Management Department

The Risk & Benefits Management Department is here to assist and provide all employees with information about their benefit package which may include health, dental, vision, life, disability and personal accident insurance. Additionally, our department provides employees with flexible spending accounts (medical and dependent care), tax shelter accounts (403)(b) and retirement. New Hire Orientation

As a new member of Team Volusia, you will be scheduled to attend a face-to-face orientation session. The sessions are generally two and a half hours long and you will receive information about…

Your session will be scheduled for you and your school or work site hiring contact will provide you with the confirmation. This confirmation letter will contain the date, time and location of your scheduled session, and other information. Please be sure to bring a black or blue pen to complete documents distributed at the session.

Payroll

The mission of the Payroll Department is to ensure that all employees are paid according to approved payroll and salary schedules and that necessary data, records, and reports are maintained and submitted in compliance with acceptable business and regulatory standards.

The payroll staff is dedicated to providing quality customer service through a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Professional Development

The Office of Professional Development and Support is charged with the responsibility of facilitating adult learning for Volusia County School employees. The State of Florida Professional Development System Evaluation Protocol monitors the operation of the office at the educator, school and district levels through a review process conducted by a team of educators.

Volusia County’s team of professional development educators and staff members are committed to continuous improvement of the adult learning experiences directed to changing adult practice in order to improve student achievement.

Information Technology Services

VCS Intranet

Volusia County Schools Intranet is designed to provide our employees access to important information and documents related to our district and their jobs. The amount of information available to our employees has grown drastically, and it is our goal to update and maintain new and current, useful and necessary information to our employees with the most efficient service possible.
