What is Social Studies?

Social Studies consists of the following core subjects: Civics-Government, Economics, Geography, and History, and also includes Humanities and Social Science electives such as Law Studies, Psychology, and Sociology. The vision for Social Studies education is to develop educated citizens of good character.  Instrumental to this vision are courses founded in Florida's Next Generation Standards and taught by educators committed to rigorous educational opportunities for all students.
