Pre-Apprenticeship

The academy prepares students for the dynamic world of modern manufacturing. With a focus on cutting-edge technologies and industry-relevant practices, the academy offers a comprehensive curriculum that engages students in hands-on learning experiences covering a spectrum of manufacturing processes, including automation, robotics, computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), additive manufacturing (3D printing), CNC machining, and materials science.

The academy introduces students to the aerospace industry and prepares them for college and careers in aerospace drafting, engineering and technical operations; aviation non-flight and flight operations; and federal government air traffic control specializations. Students have the opportunity to earn concurrent college credit through a partnership with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU).

The academy provides students with the skills needed for careers in the impactful field of agriscience and environmental studies. Students explore agricultural science, plant and animal systems, ecosystem management, and sustainability. Through hands-on projects, students work with agricultural technologies to address real-world environmental challenges.

Senior level courses provide students with an internship through an AdventHealth partnership. The Medical Academy prepares students for high-demand careers in healthcare through hands-on learning, clinical skills training, and industry-recognized certifications. Students build foundational knowledge in medical terminology, patient care, anatomy, and health science procedures while practicing real clinical competencies. Through rigorous coursework and lab experiences, students are prepared to earn certifications such as Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT), creating a strong pathway into hospitals, clinics, and allied health professions.

The academy is designed for students with career interests in health and medical fields. The programs of study include training in allied health assisting careers such as nursing assisting, medical assisting, athletic training, medical technology and restorative therapies or training in biomedical careers related to cell and molecular biology and clinical laboratory sciences. Senior level courses provide students with an internship through an AdventHealth partnership.

Students are prepared for college and careers in patient care, nursing assisting, medical assisting, EKG, medical sonography, medical technology and restorative therapies. Senior level courses provide students with an internship through an AdventHealth partnership.

The academy prepares student for careers in agriscience and aquaculture. Through the school farm and area marine environments, students have opportunities to connect with local projects in agricultural sciences.

The academy offers hands-on, practical learning in the ever-evolving landscape of digital security. The comprehensive curriculum covers cutting-edge techniques in threat analysis, ethical hacking, secure network design, and incident response. Through immersive simulations and real-world scenarios, students develop critical skills to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

The academy prepares students for careers in engineering, manufacturing and technical design through the integration of math and science concepts, real-world problems and software applications. The academy uses industry-standard equipment to train students in quality assurance, design processes, manufacturing processes, automated materials handling, electrical systems and fluid power. Senior students have an opportunity to complete an internship working in local industry.

*It is recommended that students have completed Algebra 1 upon entrance into the Academy.

This academy provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge.  Higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, such as construction techniques; reading plans and specifications; and developing trade skills in carpentry, masonry, electricity, plumbing and air conditioning.

The academy also offers internship experiences for students who aspire to be lawyers, politicians, police officers, forensic scientists, crime lab technicians and other law and government related fields.

The academy provides students with education and training in law enforcement including police ethics, crime lab and accident investigation procedures, defense tactics and crime prevention. Senior students have an opportunity to complete the 911 Telecommunicator training.

The academy focuses on careers in the areas of law, government, and public service. Through a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, the academy provides students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical framework necessary for careers in criminal justice. A combination of hands-on learning, practical experience, and critical thinking, prepare graduates to contribute positively to society's safety and security. Senior students have an opportunity to complete the 911 Telecommunicator training.

The academy utilizes the industry-standard ProStart curriculum to teach students skills for careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. Students in upper-level courses are responsible for the operation of Cuda Cafe, a school-based restaurant, and for Cuda Catering, a catering service available to community organizations.

Digital Design / Yearbook Track

Entrepreneurship Track

The academy provides students with the skills needed for careers in the fast-paced world of media production and digital communication. Students explore various aspects of video production, from concept development to filming, editing, and broadcasting. Using industry-standard technology, students engage in storytelling, visual communication, and media design.

The academy provides students with the skills needed for careers in the dynamic field of video production and multimedia storytelling. Students explore aspects of cinematography, editing, sound design, and digital content creation. With access to video technology, students experience hands-on work in film production and visual storytelling.

The academy prepares students for careers related to early childhood education with practical teaching experience in the on-site preschool, Cuda Care. Senior students have an opportunity to earn the DCF 40-hour staff credential and the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) industry certification.

The academy provides training in child development theories and stages of child development; childcare rules and regulations; safe learning environments; developmentally appropriate practices; and observing and recording methods. Students also work with children in the on-site Wolf Pup pre-school and have an opportunity to earn the DCF 40-hour staff credential and the Child Development Associate (CDA) industry certification.

Pre-Apprenticeship

The academy provides students with the skills needed for careers in the growing field of electrical systems and technologies. Students explore aspects of electrical wiring, circuitry, power systems, and renewable energy applications. Through hands-on learning, students experience the essentials of electrical installation, safety, and system maintenance.

The academy prepares students to provide initial care to sick or injured persons or as ambulance drivers and attendants.  Emergency Medical Responders may include law enforcement, lifeguard, fire services or basic life support non-licensed personnel who act as part of an organized emergency medical services team. Clinical learning experiences are an integral part of this program.

The purpose of the Engineering Pathways program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of the applications of engineering and its effect upon our lives and the choosing of an occupation. The content and activities will also include the study of entrepreneurship, safety, and leadership skills. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems in business and industry.

The academy offers specialized learning to empower future engineers, architects, and innovators.  From designing prototypes and conducting experiments to analyzing data and presenting solutions, students engage in authentic, inquiry-driven projects that mirror the complexities of engineering practice. Students work on diverse projects, spanning areas such as robotics, computer-aided design, civil engineering, aerospace, and sustainable energy for a deep understanding of engineering principles.

The academy is a dynamic hub for individuals passionate about the world of promotions, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Through a comprehensive curriculum blending innovative promotional techniques, strategic marketing, and effective branding strategies, the academy equips students with the skills and insights needed to thrive in this competitive career area. A hands-on approach and real-world projects provide students with invaluable practical experience, fostering creative thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Academy prepares students with the analytical, mathematical and verbal skills needed for careers in the finance career cluster. Students are trained for careers in banking, financial planning, accounting and money management through a rigorous curriculum and an internship in the local financial community. Students also have the opportunity to work at the student-run, school branch of Launch Federal Credit Union.              

The academy provides students with the skills needed for careers in the dynamic world of game creation, virtual reality, augmented reality, and simulation technology. Students explore various aspects of game development, from conceptualizing original ideas to programming, graphic design, storytelling, and sound engineering. Working with the latest technologies, students encounter the fast-paced world of game technology, 2D animation, 3D and animation, and designing and developing game concepts.

The academy provides students with education and career exploration in the marketing career cluster. Through a blend of cutting-edge marketing principles and entrepreneurial frameworks, the academy empowers students to think creatively, identify opportunities, and develop strategic solutions. Immersive workshops and real-world projects offer hands-on experience, equipping students with the tools to launch ventures or excel in the dynamic field of marketing.

The TEAL Academy allows students to explore a career that needs them now more than ever – teaching! Students take four courses including Introduction to Teaching, Human Growth & Development, Curriculum & Instruction and Principles of Internship that will prepare them for a career in a Kindergarten through 12th grade classroom. Students have weekly opportunities to work with the VPK students onsite at Atlantic High as well as join the FFEA (Florida Future Educators of America) chapter.
