Advanced Programs

Volusia County Schools offers a wide range of academically challenging curricula. Students can take advantage of district-wide programs such as Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment, as well as site specific and diploma awarding programs such as the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Altogether, students can take advantage of approximately 70 rigorous academic and elective courses to help them prepare for the post-secondary option of their choice. We believe all students should have access to these programs and encourage students to explore their options.

AP Psychology Update: Volusia County Schools will offer either Cambridge AICE Psychology or IB Psychology to students instead of AP Psychology for the 2023-24 school year. The shift will ensure that our students will have the opportunity to earn college credit. Students will automatically be enrolled in either of these courses within the next few days.  Please see the following FAQ document for more information.
