VPK Blended Programs

Blended Prekindergarten

Community/ESE Blended Prekindergarten is an opportunity for parents to enroll their typically developing child(ren) in a blended prekindergarten classroom that includes children with disabilities. This program is open to the public and does not provide transportation.

Scheduled sites for 2019-2020 School Year ​include the following elementary schools:

  • Forest Lake Elementary
  • Holly Hill School
  • Louise S. McInnis Elementary
  • Sugar Mill Elementary

The program is available to children who are 3 or 4 on or before September 1 and who are not yet eligible for kindergarten. Potty training is available and is not a prerequisite for enrollment.

Designated schools offer VPK instruction with a full day program (typical elementary school day hours) free to eligible families. Families must live in the designated school zone and complete the application and registration process at the school site. Students must be 4 by September 1st of the current school year and live within the designated school zone. Families must have a valid Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties for enrollment and registration.

Employee/ESE Blended Prekindergarten is an opportunity for Volusia County Schools employees to enroll their typically developing child or grandchild in a blended prekindergarten classroom that includes children with disabilities. This program is not open to the public and does not provide transportation. If there are a sufficient number of children eligible for VPK at a site, employees may use a VPK Certificate of Eligibility and enroll for only three hours per day.

Employees who choose to enroll for a longer day pay a fee for the program. Available extended hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meals are also available, at a cost, during extended hours.

  • Enterprise Elementary
  • Horizon Elementary
  • Pathways Elementary
  • Pride Elementary
  • Spirit Elementary
  • Spruce Creek Elementary

The program is available to children who are three or four on or before September 1 and who are not yet eligible for kindergarten. Potty training is available and is not a prerequisite for enrollment.
