Student Athlete Cardiac Screenings

Student Athlete Cardiac Screening story

DeLand — AdventHealth will be hosting two student athlete cardiac screenings in January. Students can be screened for risk factors associated with Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) which is the leading cause of death in student athletes and on school campuses. The screenings are safe, noninvasive and painless. Heart screenings consist of an electrocardiogram (ECG) read by a pediatric cardiologist. Anyone who registers and pays the $20 fee is welcome to get the screening. Students will need to scan the QR code to register online. The screenings will take place on the following dates and locations:

  • Westside: January 5th, 4pm-8pm at DeLand High School, Building 18
  • Eastside: January 12, 4pm-8pm at Mainland High School, Building 5
