SOS Signs and Lighting Named VCS’ Business Partner of the Year
DELAND – S.O.S. Sign and Lighting Services is Volusia County Schools’ Business Partners of the Year. Each year, schools and departments nominate their most outstanding business partners for the district’s Volusia Partner of the Year. A district selection committee selects the businesses or organizations to receive this distinction.
“S.O.S. Sign and Lighting was selected for their outstanding commitment to bringing positive change and implementing bold, innovative approaches to support our students,” said Nancy Wait, VCS Facilitator of Volunteer/Partnership Programs.
S.O.S. Sign and Lighting Services has partnered with Atlantic High for two years. In June 2020, graduating seniors were devastated to learn that their traditional graduation ceremony was going to be a very different celebration. It was the height of the pandemic and schools had been closed since March. S.O.S. stepped up to create yard signs for graduating seniors so they could be celebrated by the entire community. They also created car decals, tickets and banners.
The partnership continued with other specialized projects, including custom yard signs and banners to promote the homecoming dance, which was the first event on campus since 2020. The latest project is a branding campaign that includes designing and installing window treatments for the front office and courtyard windows. Motivational banners are also being designed for the parent loop and courtyard.
This year, S.O.S. is working with the student marketing program. They will provide speakers and share their knowledge of the industry while assisting students with projects. Time and time again, they donate their expertise and services at little or no cost in support of students. Atlantic High looks forward to a long relationship with S.O.S. Signs and Lighting Services.
