Our mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

What We Do

District-level library media services to schools include supporting school library media programs.  The emphasis on support of the instructional program, access to media, and service to students and teachers continues to be the foundation for school library media programs that serve the changing and expanding needs of the school district.

Funding

​From the State

Funding for instructional materials is appropriated annually by the Florida State Legislature and school district allocations are made by the Department of Education. 

For the School

VCS school based funding for instructional materials is allocated by the school district. During the last few years of reduced funding and increased pricing of instructional materials, individual school funding has been eliminated.
