Facilities Services Departments:
Building and Inspection
The Building Department serves as the Volusia County Schools building official which provides Florida Building Code plan review, permits and inspections for all new construction, remodeling, renovation, repairs, and demolition projects throughout the district.
Design and Construction
The office of design and construction functions as administration for architecture, engineering and construction of new and existing facilities throughout the district. The design component is responsible to district standards for specifications and contracting as well as archival of completed projects. The construction component serves as project management administration for every phase of the project including planning, design, construction and project closeout.
Maintenance and Operations
The Maintenance and Operations department is responsible for the cleanliness, proper functioning, and safe operation of all district facilities. The department is also responsible to monitor and ensure compliance with all fire, health, safety, and environmental regulations. Efficient operation is our driving force and is best reflected in our robust recycling and energy management programs.
Planning and Business Services
Planning & Business Services is responsible for long range capital budget and facility planning and providing the business services necessary to implement construction and renovation projects in Facilities Services.
